On the 23rd of the last lunar month, we celebrate Ông Công Ông Táo, a special ceremony to bid farewell to the Kitchen Gods.
We believe these gods travel on the backs of live carp to report to the Jade Emperor.
So, we buy carp and release them into the rivers to help them on their journey.
We also prepare delicious offerings like sticky rice, boiled chicken, and fresh fruits.
This ritual brings a lot of excitement as we count down to Tết.
It is a time for family gatherings and to remember our traditions, making the spirit of Tết even more special.
