A year seven student from St Aloysius College is fighting for his life after a serious train accident at North Melbourne station on Monday afternoon.
The boy was struck by a train and became trapped under the carriage for approximately one hour.
Eyewitness reports suggest he may have fallen onto the tracks while trying to retrieve his phone or after his backpack became caught between the train carriages.
Emergency services responded quickly, and the student was taken to hospital in critical condition.
